BRING IN THE NEW YEAR WITH HANK MADISON -- HM will be ringing in the new year (and ringing in your ears the next day) at Clearwater's Gasoline Alley. This should be a very fun event with a large crowd so plan early and join us. For more info call Gasoline Alley at 727.532.0265 or 727.536.2992.
UP TO THE MINUTE HM NEWS -- Just a few things...We want to thank the folks at CoffeeStain.com for making Hank Madison the featured band for the month of November. It's a very cool site so check it out!
CLEARWATER SHOW POSTPONED -- Also, we regret to inform you that HM will NOT be performing at Gasoline Alley on 11/16 as originally scheduled. Tripp is working with demonstration producer Alex Gibson (who's been busy tracking and mixing some new tunes with David Lee Roth, the Elvis of our generation). Tripp's recent venture to the City of Angels featured a night on the town with our HM frontman, Alex, some close friends and Diamond Dave himself. This is not a rumor. It's the truth.
HANK MADISON HOLDS A DEMONSTRATION -- The long awaited three song EP demonstration is now available at HM shows. You can download the tunes here or email us for a disc and the promotional video. We'll have the video available here on the site in the weeks to come. The buzz has already started -- Soundwerkz.com has Hank Madison featured on the front page and you have to read Ink 19's great Live HM review.
LATEST & GREATEST -- Today (9/26) Tripp Lanier and percussionist extraordinaire Michael Carlucci played an acoustic set as part of FSU's Anti-Hate Rally on campus. A gorgeous day, Tripp was excited to go on after astronaut Capt. Winston Scott addressed the crowd. Don't think there are any images other than some local news coverage, but keep an eye out for some blurbs in the FSView.
Totally unrelated, click here to see some pictures of Tripp and comrade James Curran partying backstage with TENACIOUS D. Thanks so much to Angel Tagudin for his generosity. THE D RULES!!!
New demonstration discs should be here in early October. Stay tuned.
NEW STUFF ON THE SITE -- FINALLY!!! There are live links to the new HM tracks here on the site. Short clips on the home page, full length mp3 files here. Also, check out the reviews section and read a killer write-up about a recent HM show from Ink19. Visit Ink19 here. Enjoy!!!
HM ROCKS THE ALLEY -- Once again the HM delivered at Gasoline Alley. On Saturday night (8/25) the band entertained a very enthusiastic crowd for almost two hours after Sinister Bob played a very cool opening set. Aside from the usual suspects in the crowd, Ink19's Lee Ann Leach was there checking out the band and taking pictures for an upcoming article. Also spotted were soon to be Bay Area legends Holleywood and Brewski. They've been supporting HM religiously on their "pirate" radio show. Thanks to everyone for making it out!
HM CUTS THREE NEW TUNES -- It was a hell of a week for the HM boys as the trio laid down some mean tracks for an upcoming release. Recorded in Tallahassee, the tunes will be mixed at Henson Recording Studios (formerly A&M) in Hollywood. "Working with Alex Gibson and Bryan Cook was a huge experience for us," says Tripp Lanier. "These guys have put time in with such producers as Brendan O'Brien and Bob Rock while working with bands like Korn, Rage, STP, and the Cult. To have their experience and insight was amazing, and the new recordings are going to show it." When the mixes are finished we'll post them here on the site, and they'll be available at HM shows, too. STAY TUNED!!
HM PREPARES TO RECORD -- This weekend (8/4/01) Hank Madison will be in the studio recording three new songs for an upcoming release tentatively titled "Demonstration." Producing the tracks will be Alex Gibson and Bryan Cook of Los Angeles...the two have grabbed their experience assisting the likes of Bob Rock in Hollywood's Henson Recording Studios. Which tunes? "Arrested," "Testimony," and "Do to Me" showcase writing credits from all three members of the group. HM frontman Tripp Lanier: "We're really excited about these songs and the chance to work with Alex and Bryan. These tunes are in your face...finger-food compared to the courses we've prepared in the past, but they pack a more visceral punch. We're continuing to hone our sound each time we finish a song." Stay tuned.
WHAT A SHOW!!! -- The bay area rocked last friday (7/6) when Hank Madison took the stage at Clearwater's Gasoline Alley. "There were so many Hank Madison shirts everywhere...the crowd was nuts. I threw my back out," proclaimed frontman Tripp Lanier. So many cool fans showed up, sang along, and screamed for more. The band wishes to thank Jarod Moore and the HM fanbase for making their way out to the show. We'll need everyone out there again on the 25th of August when Ink 19 will be covering the event.
HM TO HIT THE STUDIO -- Hank Madison is currently negotiating with some LA folks about cutting three new tracks sometime in August. "Right now we've finished up some rough demos and we're trying to figure out which 3 tunes out of 14 new songs we want to push," says frontman Tripp Lanier. "But overall we're thrilled about making some new recordings...we've grown so much as players and writers since Flags." Stay tuned.
HM SHARES THE STAGE WITH DOUG PINNICK OF KING'S X!!! -- Last week, Hank Madison opened the Poundhound show with fellow Houston boys (and Jerry Gaskill offspring) Geek. For those who made it out, they were treated to quite an event. Hats off to Doug Pinnick and the Poundhound for moving the groove along. That's Doug there in the picture with Tripp and Aquil of Hank Madison.

NEW TOOL
This doesn't have anything to do with the band, but hopefully everyone is enjoying the new Tool record. Jack and Tripp were among the very lucky to witness Tool's first show in god-knows-how-long at Atlanta's Tabernacle. "Awesome." They're still recovering.
